MiriStream requires a FAST computer in order to operate correctly, and a Dual Core CPU (or Intel Core2DUO Quad Core) is strongly recommended). Most computers sold in the last few years are all Dual Core, and most computers sold in the last year are Core2Duo which actually contain 4 processors at its core. If you are using a notebook computer, be sure to use AC Power instead of battery power to avoid CPU SCALING. CPU Scaling is a feature of your notebook which automatically slows your CPU Down to keep it cool and to save power. If you are using CPU Scaling, check your POWER MANAGEMENT area and try disabling this feature to improve performance.
Is your Internet connection fast enough?
Sometimes, MiriStream can fail when an Internet connection is not fast enough. There are many things that can slow a connection down, especially on wireless connections. For this reason, We strongly recommend that you do not use a wireless connection otherwise video quality will be reduced, and connectivity to our servers may be interrupted. To test your Internet connection speed, try a service such as www.speedtest.netTo run MiriStream properly, you should get an upload speed of AT LEAST 200kb/s (or 0.2Mb/s). If your upload speed test is less than this, MiriStream may not work well with your connection.
Are Viruses, Spyware or Adwware slowing you down?
Programs such as these can rob you of CPU performance which MiriStream needs to provide good quality video to your customers. If you suspect that this is happening, try a spyware scanners such as AVG, or products from Norton or Mcaffee.
Are you using Windows Vista? Try these tips to improve performance:
